Ottawa Date: Thu, 14 Jul Just filling out the conference
registration form. The last couple of questions request
information on delegates. I'm not sure if I can can identify
myself as a delegate. Can you help me? I'm with NirvCentre
which operate the internet host Web. In the Canadian Internet
Handbook describes us as follows: "NirvCentre is a nonprofit
organization that aims to provide new information technology
and communications resouces to organizations that are not
motivated by profit. By doing so, NirvCentre intends to
contribute to building a self-reliant community based on
nonprofit enterprise, co-operation, and mutual aid that, as a
community, can support, maintain, and defend principles of
social responsinbility, ecology, and economic justice. In
particular, NirvCentre aims to assist those organizations
that advocate, and participate in, making changes to
institutions of all kinds in order to effect a more equal
distribution of wealth and power, and to defend the natural
environment." Please let me know if NirvCentre (Web) meets
your criteria. Gary Campbell gary@web.apc.org 613-729-3132
Note from Garth Graham...I replied that, in my personnal
opinion, the lack of a specific focus on the development
needs of particular *geographic* community meant that WEB did
NOT qualify for membership. Would anyone else care to ponder
this one?
