Ken McCarthy - CandidateWhat skills will you contribute to the NCF Board? I have a background working at Nortel in wireless base station development from TDMA up to WiMax managing software development groups. I'm currently working in the area of cloud based services at a small local company. The technical skill will be an asset to enable me to contribute to new ideas that will keep NCF not only relevant but an essential player in field of access and content. What are the most important functions of teh NCF for its members? To provide internet access at a reasonable cost, to advocate when appropriate in national discussions about internet policy and third to provide a platform for new or differentiated services that can not be found on commercial networks. The NCF has been more than a low cost connection and this role needs to continue and expand. Why do you want to be an NCF director? NCF is an organization that has an important role, and I believe I will be able to contribute to its continued growth and success. I used to be more active in community organizations and feel it is time to again engage in activities that can be beneficial to our community at large. |
