Mary Anne Dugmore - CandidateI was first elected to the NCF Board of Directors in 2002 and have seen, first hand, how a small community, with technology roots, can contribute to the education of one another. In my opinion, this is the foundation of NCF. In experience gained from working over 30 years in Ottawa in technology departments, currently as a Project Manager in a large school board, and previously, as an administrator at a local university, I have enjoyed learning and sharing the benefits that technology can contribute in education. I have also worked for the Federal Government and as a consultant in private industry. In these environments, technology enables learning. This is, in my view, what NCF does - it enables anyone to use the technology to learn and communicate and become involved in a community. NCF must continue to provide access to the internet and other tools to mentor a community where interested explorers search the web for knowledge and positive, rewarding experiences. This is a community that fosters life-long learning. What skills will you contribute to the NCF Board?Over 30 years experience in educational, technology environments as well as consulting in private industry and government. What are the most important functions of NCF for its members? To encourage and facilitate the use of technology for everyone interested in exploring the Internet and mentoring of an on-line community. Why do you want to be an NCF director? To work with NCF to meet their goals and to share my technology knowledge and experiences. Mary Anne Dugmore |
