NCF was officially registered as a federal not-for-profit corporation on September 29, 1992. Here are the original Objects of the Corporation reflecting NCF's founding purpose.

At the 2025 Annual General Meeting, NCF's membership voted to update NCF's purpose to better reflect our work.

The current objects of the Corporation are:

  1. To provide internet access, related services and digital skills support to residents and former residents of the National Capital Region.
  2. To help connect those in the National Capital Region to the internet who are not yet connected.
  3. To advocate for affordability of Internet access, digital equity and the elimination of the digital divide.

Board of Directors

NCF is managed by an elected Board of Directors, chosen by and from our membership. The Board meets monthly, and posts agendas of upcoming meetings and minutes of past meetings.
