Updating Your Connection for 10-digit Dialing in Windows XP

Follow these instructions to update the dial-up connections on your computer. This will have to be done before June 17th, 2006.

Please note that you will have to update ALL of the connection icons on your computer located in Network and Dial-up Connections if you have more than one.

1. From the Start menu, choose Connect To then click Show all connections.

   

   Note: If you don't see "Connect To" in the Start menu, the choose Start -> Programs or (All Programs) -> Accessories -> Communications -> Network  Connections.

2. In the Network Connections window, right-click your NCF icon and then left-click on Properties.

   

3. On the General tab, either add the 613 to the existing telephone number or redo the entire telephone number itself as shown below. Click OK.

   NOTE: Place the 613 in the same box as the rest of the telephone number as demonstrated below. Do not place it in the area code box.

   

Repeat steps 2-3 for each icon set to dial NCF.
