NCF services to suit your needs

If you want dial-up access to internet from home…

NCF offers a low-cost, low-risk way to get started with dial-up internet access.  Just click here for information about getting started, or ask for an installation CD from any Ottawa public library branch.

If you have internet access at work and want a separate email account for personal mail…

Many people have internet access at the office but prefer to keep their personal email separate from facilities owned and perhaps monitored by employers.  No problem!  Each NCF member gets a personal email account that can be accessed from anywhere in the world by web browser or by using a email reader.

If you have ADSL or Cable broadband and want another email account for someone at home…

Bell Sympatico and Rogers @Home provide only one email account with their service.  Rather than everyone in a household sharing that one email account, each person can get their own email account at NCF, and then access it via the broadband connection using a regular email reader, or by using a web browser – from anywhere in the world!

If you want a permanent email address associated with a not-for-profit Ottawa organization…

Get an NCF account, yourName@ncf.ca.  You can hand out your NCF email address and then forward it, no matter where you actually pick up your email and no matter how many times you change ISPs – you’re not locked in by the hassle of telling everyone your email address has changed.

If you want a personal web page…

Every NCF account comes with as much as 1M byte of storage area for personal web pages.  Assistance is available from volunteers to help create web pages, and there is online instruction.

If your organization wants internet services…

NCF offers accounts for organizations – over 100 not-for-profit agencies have their web pages at NCF!  Contact the Executive Director for more information.

If you want something not mentioned …

Check with NCF – in addition to what is described here, there are many other services.  If NCF doesn’t have it now, chances are good that someone else wants the service too, and NCF would be glad to investigate installing it.
